Looking for a very specific Rifle!

I was thinking about this at the local gun show a couple weeks ago. With all the panic buying, the only rifles for sale were 50 bmgs and mostly antique rifles that none of the tacticool guys don't care about.

Is there some kind of specialty
collectors club you can contact
that would ask the members to
keep a lookout for the specific
firearm?
Whwnever I see that there's been a response to this thread I get excited that the rifles been found. I don't know why but it's like a treasure hunt, not sure why but I really want to see this guy get that gun back.

I kinda wonder if Brownells is going out of business. Seems everything I try to order is OOS, and or now, on back order. Tried to order a Lyman receiver sight, a few front sights, and some other items. Only stuff they seem to be interested in are for AR's or 1911 pistols. If those involved their main selling point, then that's what the catalog should reflect and not all the other things a "mundane" 'ol 'smith might need for several customers. OK, I feel better now. :cuss:

Most likely, at this point, it belongs to someone who isn't online, or participates in gun-forums, has no real interests in rifles, etc. Perhaps is in the back of a closet, dad's old rifle that he left when he passed a way. Or something.
