I have several beater pistols that need small firing pin springs. Star BM, RG 25, etc.

Does any place sell assortments of small coil springs that can be used for firing pin springs? Finding actual replacements for a lot of these guns is almost impossible.

Thanks for the tips. Numrich and others listed the actual springs for some but none had them in stock. I assume that means they will never get them.

Try Popperts or Jack First and Sarco. You might try Bob's Gunshop in Arkansas as well. Pretty much have to call. Sarco has some weird one off stuff not listed online except for the firearm model--pretty much have to call for help on those.

It may also be worth checking out your local gunsmith and many have odds and ends from previous repairs that can be adapted to work.

I found what I wanted there for another gun but so far no shipment has been sent. It's a very confusing site. I'm sure anyone here could design a better website than the hodge-podge they have put online.

The reduced spring set I got from Wolff's made my Polish P-64 usable in the DA mode.

He is an old school type, suspect one person operation, that went to the web reluctantly versus phone or fax orders. The new website is a bit better than the old one but long shipping times are usual but he lists parts that others don't have for many obscure and obsolete firearms.

Most of the big parts houses with online inventory are being slowly cleared out by ebay resellers because a lot of folks don't know how to find gun parts selling websites. SS Sporters has complained about it in the past. I suspect that reproduction parts may be the future as fewer gunsmiths are able to fabricate parts from scratch for firearms lacking parts. The U.S. never had the apprenticeship programs that the Brits and Germans do for gunsmithing.

There is another offline parts seller, Lee's in Texas (http://leesgunparts.com/) that has a good reputation from other folks posting online. I have never tried them so don't know first hand.

Thanks for the tips and link.

I replaced the hammer spring on the P-64 with a weaker one and it resulted in a D/A pull that was possible .. maybe 16-18 lbs. Still no dream trigger. I may remove it and cut a coil off to see if it improves. Of course, the same spring functions to retain the magazine so I could mess it up too. At least now I know where to get them.
The lightened hammer spring made the single-action trigger pull about 3 lb. or less ... just great!

From what I understand, the P-64 has a unique disconnector that is different than the PPK. You might be able to polish it somewhat to improve trigger pull.
