Has anyone have or anyone tried the new berry's Hybrid Hollow Points (HHP). I believe they only have .45 but are working on .40 and 9mm. Would like know how they function, target vs. SD capability.
I really like the Berry's Bullets, so when they introduced the first run on the 45's I bought some. Last September loaded w/ CCI300, Power Pistol 6.9gr to run through the Springfield Armory XDM. Very satisfied. In the heart of winter with frozen 1 gallon milk jugs they showed quite a bit of force. I don't have any hard data (no chronograph) and I don't look for tight grouping when practicing for SD, just center of mass. They sure worked for me. I was able to retrieve one bullet from the dirt and expansion seemed quite good. I'm looking forward to when they get the 9 and 40 up and running. Hope this helps.
I got the Berry's catalog in the mail a couple days ago and I saw the HHPs there it piqued my interest. Good news! The HHP is available in 9mm, .40 and .45.
I guess I'll have to try them!
The 45's I spoke of earlier were 185gr. Berry's web site says the 40's will be available around the end of the month and the 9's not until July of this year.
