I noticed there's not a lot of range info about Berry's 147g 9mm Hybrid Hollow Point so I loaded up a few and did a water jug test. Here's a couple photos and a short youtube review I did over the weekend. The bullet core was caught in the 4th jug while the pedals fragged within the 1st and 2nd jugs and passed into the 3rd jug. I would like to see this test repeated in ballistic gel for a better representation of what the HHP will do on soft tissue. I'll update this post as I do more testing with this bullet. So far I like it.

Bullet: Berry's 147g 9mm HHP
Brass: Federal
COAL: 1.100"
Powder: 4.4g H. CFE Pistol
FPS: 950 (LabRadar)

Is it correct to assume your 950fps is from that 8" barrel ? Any chance you do that test with a shorter barrel or do you have chrono numbers on that load from a 3.5" or 4" barrel ?

You are correct, that was through the MPX 8" barrel which so far is averaging 981fps with that load.

I didn't test any of these through my 4" 9's, but a 4 shot avg through a 5" Citadel 1911 9mm was 971fps. They cycled great and recoil was light compared to factory 115g @ 1150fps. Barrel length seems somewhat negligible with this load. I have a 4" Springfield I'll run a few through next time.

I shot a large whitetail with a 45 ACP 230gr Berry's HHP, 4.8 gr titegroup.
It was a 35 yard broadside double lung shot and the bullet ,a perfect mushroom, stopped under the hide on the far side.

Great info. The week after Christmas I shot a cull spike in the neck with a Hornady 147g XTP. He dropped like a turd.

Here's a pic of the damage.
