I also second the Starship troopers recommendation. Don't laugh, from what I have heard it is required reading at a few military colleges. Not a thing like the movie in the least bit.

I was wrong about 1984. That must've been the Warrant Officers list at the shop; Corrected it.


Good movie; not required in my time though.

I'm with you on that one Husker!

I will also second Louis L'Amour, especially his Sacket series. He was the best Western writer of all time IMHO (at one point I owned every book that he had ever written, in paperback or course, and there were well over 100 books).
