As the title says I'm looking for load data for CFE Pistol. I'm using 185 grain FN jacketed bullets from RMR. I checked Hodgdon's website and believe it should be between 7.1 and 8.1 grains (I always start at the low end and work my way up if necessary) but wanted to confirm.

That is what I would be using for data.
CFE-P isn't in my manuals. So I use the same website you do.
You chose the closest bullet in the list. So I don't know what else you could do.

Not using Hornady I take it then?

Page 942, 10th edition for 185 weight for .45 ACP, 6.8 starting, 8.0 max in the red.

Page 943 same as above for 200 weight, page 944 for 230, however nothing for lead only on page 945.

My Hornady manuals are volume 1 & 9.
I bought them for rifle data.
Hornady max loads tend to be my accuracy load in my rifles. Even if other manuals show charges that are heavier with the same bullet.

CFE Pistol is listed for 45 ACP in my Hodgdon "magazine" annual manuals. I highly recommend you turn your confirmation around and confirm any forum load data with a published reloading manual...

Everything I just posted had pages, what edition, and actual numbers that can easily be verified by confirming with your own tenth Hornady Edition.

It's worth keeping up with the latest editions though.

I have my powder and bullet choices nailed down. I'm not planning on changing loads any time soon.
My bullet and powder stash is deep enough the newer manuals will be outdated again before I go chasing new loads.

Well, it may have been best to answer that it wasn't in your older manuals, as what you had said with full disclosure got us to where we are now.

At any rate, OP got the data that is in at least one manual that we know of courtesy of an information share correction, so there is that. Take care.

I don't understand your offense to the info I posted. But bless your heart.

I thought I'd previously loaded those same bullets with CFE so I looked back through my records.

185 gr FN over 7.1 gr of CFE Pistol averaged 863 fps through my M&P .45 compact with 4" barrel.

185 gr FN over 7.3 gr of CFE Pistol averaged 895 fps through the same gun.

Both those loads are on the light side and it shows with the relatively slow velocities.

I didn't do a whole lot of testing with these bullets as I've since switched to 230 gr FMJ for my .45's.

As always I have to add that these are the results I got. Your results may vary.
