looking for cheap unservicable m1 garand parts.

I am taking on a project to convert a ruger 10/22 to an m1 garand [NOT an m1 carbine]

I have found the a piece stock set with no metal for $100 and am looking for the gas piston tube, gas piston screw,

barrel [I will cut it and affix it to the end of the m1 for looks while the barrel from the 10/22 would sit connected to it under the front hand guard. ]

trigger plate [i will hide the magazine under the trigger plate to make it look more real.]

and pretty much everything else that will make the m1 look aesthetically identical [or at least as close as I can get it.] to it's original brethren.

the only thing is that i dont need a serviceable gas piston, trigger group, or barrel as they are purely aesthetic for my purposes...so rusted, pitted ,and worn down is ok as long as it's cheap.

any ideas?

I'd look at the CMP forums for parts. Probably Jouser too, but I don't recall if they have a trading post section, but I bet they do.

Pheonix Distributors on gunbroker has had a number of the BTFU (seriously- worhty of parts use only) Garand's, stocks, barrels and other parts lately.

I've got a barrel, operating rod, and some other small pieces. They came off a rifle the CPM rebuilt for me. Send me an email and I'll see what all I have. We can work out a trade for something.

roadkill...what parts do you have? stock parts? ferrules? I dont think I would need the op rod...just the gas tube but i would love the barrel...what are you looking for trade wise? I work for a gun store so just about anything is within the realm of possibility...but I cant buy pistols till November [I'm only 20]
