Howdy,

I did a series of google searches some months ago and found a compact, polymer-framed 1911 pistol in .45 that also had both .22LR and 9mm conversion slides, barrels and magazines. I thought it was Kimber, but I can only find the 9mm conversion.

Does anyone know of suitable packages?

I'm doing a web search now but my ISP is really flakey tonite and not opening half of the pages I've URLed.

Thanks,

Rick

Oooooooh.

Edited to add...

Dang. DA/SA. I need an SA only. If Kimber or someone makes a 1911-style pistol with the conversions, that's the way to go.

The other option is to ditch the .45 and just do a .22LR conversion for a 9mm 1911 pistol.

Okay, who makes a 9mm 1911 pistol? :)

Springfield has one in their catalog...Kimber will make one every now and then

So now the question is, if I get a 9mm, will it be of the same size (rail-wise) as the .45 so that I can get a Marvel (or other maker) .22LR conversion?

As well, what about upping it to .45? My guess is that I'm playing with ejector geometry issues as well.

***Uh-oh.*** I forgot to mention that this gun is for my daughter. Must be small, thin, and light. Sorry.

Rick

Rails are the same, but the ejector's different. My Marvel conversion won't go on my Springfield 9mm because the ejector gets in the way.
