Looking for first 9mm

I went through quite a number of handguns before deciding which one (or three) is my favorite. I have Sig Sauer, Springfield Armory, HK, Ruger, and Smith & Wesson most of which are semi-autos.

I like the HK .45C a lot because it has great features, is very accurate and fits my hand well. My overall favorite is my Sig 226 which shoots exceptionally well, AND, I purchased the .22 conversion kit with two mags. This is a terrific combination. It allows me to do a lot of practicing with the .22 ammo, work out my deficiencies on the cheap, and then go to the more expensive 9mm ammo when I am "dialed in".

So, 9mm it is my Sig 226 as a favorite. In .45 caliber I prefer the HK.

All this decison making is a matter of shooting a lot and comparing weapons. I change my preference in HOT WEATHER. I do not want to sweat all over my better guns, but I do want to maintain discreet concealed carry.

TIP: I bought a nylon CAMERA CASE to carry my handgun and extra magazine. It works very well and goes totally un-noticed in public settings. I have my cell phone attached to the outside. I have never been quizzed about the contents of my "camera case". This method allows me to carry ANY handgun with ease, concealed, but with ready access.

Have you done any research or checked at local shops to handle the guns mentioned? Internet forums are full of personal preferences and personal dislikes that may have no relationship to what you actually want or need.
