Im,going to buy a nice 4-5k over under. Will likely need to shorten the stock and will not do it myself. Anyone know of gunsmiths in va that can do the mod or even make a new custom stock?

    For 4-5K...

you should get a custom fitting job along with the gun, or are you buying super fancy wood and engraving?

Yeah that sounds like a better idea. I'm finding out there are a few shotgun manufacturers in Maryland. Maybe they'll be able to fit me.

Jack Bart at Bart's Sports near Baltimore advertises the service.
The shop is in Glen Burnie, but he does travel some.

Have you asked for a recommendation at a local sporting clays course?

Thanks I'll look into Jack Bart. I haven't been to the local clay course yet. But will definitely go there this Saturday and see what they say. I have a Benelli Montefeltro I picked up in the fall and haven't been out to break in. I fortunately got that in a short stock so it fits okay. I'm just not finding a lot of O/Us I like with short stocks.

Guerini in Cambridge MD does custom work on their guns. They list a variety of services on the custom shop page.

    www.gueriniusa.com

I haven't had them do any work on my 28 ga. Woodlander, but they have a very good reputation.

Is there any place near Chantilly in Northern VA that could do Parkerizing and Gunkote? Kind of like what Mac does at http://www.shootiniron.com/ but I cant afford to ship my Mak to him with the new regs for Fedex and UPS:(
