I'm trying to starting a Fantasy Football(FF) league for gun owner/tactical minded folks who love football too. It's been harder to find those people than I expect so I wanted to drop the invitation here for any FF veterans or die-hard NFL fans who may be interested.

TGR Fantasy Football

Thanks!

a THR fantasy football league might be fun, but I'm not sure there's enough interest to get 10 or 12 teams going. I'm in two leagues already and I'll probably do a Yahoo league just for grins.

I am guilty both. I am not sure which is worse. Being a gun owner in California or being an NFL fan that roots for the 49ers. I could go for another league

I am a big football fan, but have never entered into the Fantasy Football world, it could be fun. But the real question is, will there be a prize for the league champ and what will it be. I have been looking for a quality left handed bolt action chambered in .308 Win!

I'm in the same boat you are, but since it's a free league, I don't really expect there to be any prizes, per se. I joined up on this league to give it a shot. Wouldn't it really suck to finish worse than me, the guy that's never played before? :D

Well I don't have anything right now (and hadn't thought of it) but I expect I could find someone to donate something for a prize for the league winner (or I could just give it to the runner up after I win the league :p ). No promises but if I get enough players to make this a go (8-16 teams), I'll do my best to get someone to donate something. Don't expect it to go 'bang' :)

E-mail me if interested but be advised it will take some time especially if you want to be competitive....and it is addictive! :D

Nothing set in stone, if the league thinks we need to change something it can be done before the draft. Set for up to 16 teams but 10-12 is ideal I think, less than 8 isn't worth it.

Anything else, let me know :D

After years of fantasy football let me make some suggestions.

12 teams max (10 teams is preferable)

No points for completions / receptions. (I'd be pretty mad if I lost to a guy by a point because the quarterback completed a negative yardage completion.)

Quarterbacks throwing touchdowns - 4 pts. (Otherwise the guy with Payton Manning destroys everybody because they make no effort to run the ball).

Is this team defense or pick 3 defensive players. I've played both either way its fun.

I don't have any problems with any of those suggestions. Those are the same basic discussions we have had in a church league I am in. Currently struggling to get enough teams to make a go of it, we hit 10 I'll stop recruiting :D One Team Defense, One Defensive Player.

So you in? :D

I think either 10 or 12 teams is just fine.

The points for completions / receptions I don't think is a big deal. It rewards the guy who caught 10 balls for 75 yards, versus the guy who caught one ball and broke a tackle and went for 75. It's ok with me either way.

Quarterbacks throwing touchdowns - 4 pts. I think that's a good change.

My suggestion would be to just have a team defense, especially since there will apparently be alot of beginners playing.

I'm in!

I would absolutely play. My wife and I just moved and I haven't been able to work myself into a new fantasy league. Let me know.

Yeah, it's a yahoo league. I've played in a few yahoo leagues over the last few years and it's really an easy way to run things. Everything from making free agent and waiver pick-ups to trades, it runs pretty smoothly.

Yes it is a Yahoo league and the one I was in last year works with no problems all season so I expect it to work well this year also.

If you want to play and haven't received a PM from me, let me know.

Thanks!

Oh boy! Fantasy football ... its like Magic: The Gathering for football nerds!

Well, it's not as realistic as the "what type of ammo should I use in my M4 I store in the bathroom linen closet in case I get attacked while in the shower" threads, but we have fun.

;)

I might be interested if you need one more guy.
I have never played fantasy football, although I have played many fantasy baseball teams.
Let me know.

you should have been around for the draft I had for my other league last night. everyone but me had there magazines out flipping through pages trying to figure out there next 6 picks.

I guess it is a little like magic the gathering for football geeks. But we don't need those decks and we can only play 16 weeks a year. boo

David, I just recruited someone into the 10th spot last night and we have to have an even number. If we can get one more person to step up who wants to play I'll open it up for two more spots. I think 12 is a great number of teams.

So how about it, do we have one more who wants to play? Post here and I'll PM the sign up link tonight and you and David can get in. It is a blast :D
