HI all, I never make it down this far at the head end of the web site, shame on me....
Here goes.

Just found a Hawthorne Model 807 Single shot .22L.R. Bolt action.
The above is stamped on the barrel.
Also on the barrel is (get this)
Montgomery Ward & Co. EJN 807
All I can tell you is that it was my sisters from the 50’s

Thing that intrigues me the most is a two digit number stamped on the barrel, could this be a two digit S/N??

Anybody have any info on the company or the rifle?
It’s in almost N.I.B. condition.

Thanks, RTFM

I can't find a listing for a Hawthorn Model 807 EJN, but I DO find two Hawthorn bolt action .22.'s
One is the Model 880 EJN . The other is a 580 EJN.

Surprise, both are Colt Colteer rifles made for Montgomery Wards.

The first Colt "Colteer" rifles were bolt actions, the later models were semi-auto.
They were available in .22LR and .22 Magnum.

The bolt actions were made from 1957 to 1966, with about 50,000 produced.

That's it. Thanks dfariswheel

My bolt is blued though.
