Hi, this post is of topic I know, but at least the description of the forum has "plinking" in it. I'm looking for a place to plink in about a 100 mile radius of Milwaukee (WI). I found a place on a small strip of public hunting land in East Troy about 4 years ago that had obviously been used for years. I also know that it is illegal to discharge a firearm in hunting areas other than in the legal attempt to take game. I risked it a few times, always cleaning up my leftovers and a kitchen garbage bag of other peoples. I went out late last fall and there in the middle of the hundred or so acres of soybean fields--a McMansion. Of course there were public hunting land signs posted still, outnumbered 4-1 with No Trespassing signs.

So what I'm trying t say, is there any solution to my dilemma. I don't know why shooting cans, pumpkins and stuff is so much more fun than paper targets. Does anyone have land they would allow me to use? I'm 47 (it's the inner 9 year old that's got me wanting to plink...), responsible, respectful, reputable, etc. After talking to a lawyer I'd write up an indemnity paper absolving the land owner of all consequences
and clearly stating my obligations and limitations, etc. I'd even be willing to pay for the privilege. (I can't believe my Grandpa used to could take me out to a small town dump outside of San Jose to plink-the Brown rats were "Japs" and the Black rats were "Krauts"-sorry to be un PC about the nomenclature)

I love my wife, but I should have married a woman with a Bait Store and a gravel pit. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
