Birthday coming up soon. Time to get a new carry gun. Interested in Kahr K40. Have a preference for all metal. Appreciate pros & cons and other suggestions.

Thank you in advance

the new kimber solo carry seems pretty sweet.

Too bad the Solo is cancelled until further notice due to poor QC and warranty. I'd wait until K can figure out how mag releases work. Cause you know how complex it is to make a mag release work.

I'm not going to talk you out of a Kahr K40. Unless your recoil sensitive, then the K9 may be better.

Also look at a compact Colt 1911 or a Dan Wesson CCO.

I would suggest that you shoot a sub compact .40 first, many of these guns are great in 9mm, but have been known to have issues to being flat out unworkable for most people in .40.

The K40 looks like a nice gun

If you want one get it. They have a pretty good reputation. If you don't have a 1911, you might also look at the various commander sized gun out there. I have several Kimbers, Taurus and Rock Island guns. My favorite carry gunis my Tac Pro II. It is light weight with a 4 inch barrel and 9 rd capacity. Their are lots of other good 1911's out their as well.

I owned a K9 (9MM) and wished I hadn't sold it. Great trigger, very accurate and really comfortable. They are very well made. Kahr's are expensive, but in my experience, they are worth it.

I have a K40 Elite 03 ordered it should be here sometime next week. I will tell you how it does at the range. I was torn between the Mk 40 and the K 40 and I am hoping the extra half inch on the grip will keep the 40cal more managable I will let you know
