Well, I suggest you Google "Mossberg rifle failure" to see what happened a few years ago.

As I remember the retold events, the bolt handle went down, but the front lugs didn't rotate with handle, so bolt was unlocked when cartridge fired.

Any product can have manufacturing defects, but this appeared to be a design error.

If their engineers have made design changes and the company stands behind the product, it may be OK now.
 
I think the Stevens 200, Savage 110, and LSI Howa 1500 (AKA Weatherby Vanguard) are better rifles for the same (or only a little more) money.
