Hi, folks. I'm shopping for two 20ga. Remington 870 Wingmasters, and also one in 28ga. The two 20ga. shotguns are for two ladies that I'm teaching to shoot - the 28ga. is for me! :D

Do you know of any GOOD-CONDITION Wingmasters that fit this description, and are available for sale at reasonable prices? If so, please post details here, with contact information (phone numbers, etc.) for gun stores, or PM me. There are none available at present in my area (or at least, none in good condition, or at reasonable prices. I don't consider a beat-up, rusted 870 in 20ga. with rust all over the barrel to be worth $400! :what: )

(Please note - I'm looking for Wingmasters, not the Express version.)

Preacherman,
I just happened to handle a beautiful Wingmaster yesterday in .410.
I believe they also had 28 and 20 guage. The .410 was going for...$549.

I'm trying to convince my fiance to get the youth model 870 Express ($310) so that we can get it sooner rather than later, but hey, she has fine taste and wants to save for the Wingmaster.

A worthy quest,my friend. One small point...

Early 20 gauge WMs are on 12 gauge frames. This makes up into a moderately heavy shotgun. a V at the tail of the serial number's the tipoff. The LW frames used on more modern WMs and all the Expresses run a little lighter, and IMO make up into a trimmer arm. The 28s are on the LW frame.

And Shalako, cherish that woman!

I could swear I saw an 870 in 20ga tonight while at the local shop. I'll stop by later this week and look again. (I was busy drooling over a couple of SxS's. :D )

I got just what you need in a older full size(so you can put on all the bells and whistles) 20, ga. I got a Robar 18" barrel with Rem choke and the OEM 28" mod barrell . The gun is 85-90% and only had a case total through it. I will loan it to you for teaching or TRADE it to you for something weird of equivalent value, Father.:)

Another point. Skeet guns could (and were) made in all gauges on the 12 ga frame. They could be ordered specifically in sets and weighted the same. The sets would have consecutive serial numbers for all the guns.

That would be SWEET for the collection!

Preacherman, I should get by there again on Friday.

Preach,

Stopped by today and turns out I was mistaken. The 20ga I saw was a Winchester.

Several 12ga 870s, though. One is only $199. If only I didn't have other things to get....
