What are you calling a training knife?

You can make a plaster of Paris mold of nearly anything using plaster of Paris and stretchwrap like you use on food. Once you have your mold you can duplicate the original with whatever material you want to...I like candlewax and hot glue, have tried clay but didn't do well with clay.

Thanks, that's a good idea. I want something I can use to practice force-on-force drills with, without maiming my training partner.

One other possible source for training knives might be Red Man training (not certain of correct name of company) that provides Red Man suits for defensive training... If I remember correctly they had a series of accessories to their suits - also in soft red plastic that included guns, knives, etc.

I'm not sure if this is beneficial to you or not, but I've recently used a mold-making kit, first using a plaster to make a molding of the knife, then letting it dry & harden, and then using a firmer silicone to make a trainer using a pour into the molding I previously made. The products I've used have come from craft stores and most use something like silicone 30 iirc and don't cost much at all. It worked out really well with the exception being the first time I didn't think to shrink wrap the knife or coat it in an anti-stick gel before making the mold. With the knife you are molding, you might want a firmer silicone given its shape.

I know some people have used cheap plastic cutting boards for material.
Sam has made training knives out of G10, micarta, wood, and tough plastic.

Buy another Sharpfinger, and then dull it on a belt sander. Pretty hard to get cut then! Make sure to round out the edges left and you're good to go.
