Hello,

I am trying to locate a few specific 1911 magazines and am having some difficulty. If someone can provide a model/part # or web link, I would really appreciate it. Note that I have searched on Brownell’s and Midway USA, but their descriptions just aren’t detailed enough.

Here is what I’m looking for:

Colt 1911 magazine
7 rd
Stainless steel
Flat baseplate
Flat steel dimpled follower OR split steel dimpled follower (I think there are two different types)
Tapered (timed) feed lips

Springfield Armory / Metal Form
Same as above.

FYI: I am planning on buying locally a Wilson Combat #47A and possibly a CMC Powermag just to try a variety of stuff out.

Thanks for the help!

Jad, these Kimber 7 rounders, http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=710615 , are dead ringers for the older Colt 7rd mag I've got, other than being stainless instead of blued, of course. The Chip McC powermags are a little faster on the lip taper, as are the current Colt 8 rounders. The current Colt & CMC have identical feed lips & followers, with the CMC having a stronger spring and ever so slightly longer body.

Try Gary at randgfirearms.com he might not have any listed so ask. He's a 1911 fanatic and has some really nice guns. He is a wealth of info if you have any questions on guns or similar needs.
