Hello and happy 4th of July everybody .

Currently been trying to figure out a load for my Bergara 6.5 creermoor .

Guy at the range gave me a small sample of Federal 210 primers and small rilfe primers to try with the Berger 135 classic hunter bullets I have .

Powder is H4350 and I started out at 39.0 ( called and talked to Berger about their suggested charge range with that bullet and h4350 ) and slowly worked my way up for 42.3 .

Was shooting 3 shot groups to 100 yards .

Seems like 42.0 my best groups came from there .

This was using Hornandy once fired barass in my gun ,neck tension is 2 thousands .

Was able to get some Peterson brass srp and lrp and wanting to see if I can get that going .

Did manage to shoot 3 of the srp peterson at 39.0 and put some pics in here of the fired cases to see if the firing pin is cratering or if you see any bad signs .

I know that peterson has less case volume and will not want to go too high with the charge so i will move slowy up in small increments .

If the firing pin is too much for the srp I can use the lrp peterson and not mess with the srp version .

Let me know what you think and thank you 20210704_183140.jpg

Duh. I read that as Beraga Classic Hunter and thought it was the rifle.
Pics look fine. Your 42.3gr in the hornady brass should be around textbook max. You got the right powder IMO.

I'm seeing bolt imprint on the heads. Primers have flow but nothing to be alarmed about them. The imprint is. Did you collect any crony data?

From what I see I would back it up just a tad.

Was looking to see if anybody saw any issues with the brass as the peterson is supposed to be less case capacity .

I do not own a crony so no data to fall back on just the target and the condition of the brass .

The data that Baerger gave me was up for 43.4 of h4350 with the 135 classic hunter .

So you think maybe going down to 38 .6- or so and see how it goes , seems like a light charge for that bullet but rather not have any trouble and not be able to find much data on the loads other than what Berger gave me .

So far the gun and my little bit of loading has been a dud lol

Had a couple descent groups at 42 with the Hornandy brass but a lot more over 1 moa then I think it should be .

The pics are of the small rifle primers could always switch over to the large rilfle primers if need be .

I would use the LRP primers, suggest you put those bullets on the lands and hold with an extra thousand smaller bushing and run an abbreviated ladder to bolt lift pressure or primers start backing out. I bet you'll find a load window.

thanks for the advice . not sure I have that method in my bag . going to see if i can find somebody with a chrony and find the flat spot to narrow down my search .

Not sure what to do with the small rifle primer brass hoped it would have worked out but would rather not fool around with too much pressure .

When you get to pressure you will start to feel a bit of bolt lift resistance after that primers may start to flatten out just a tiny bit.

Save that brass for another day.
