Looking for a camo autoloading 12 gauge under $1000. Any suggestions? Would also like to hunt deer with it, but mostly turkeys, as well as shoot skeet.

go buy yourself a beretta or a benelli. I had an 11-87 and did not like it one bit. Not bashing remingtons as i had an 1100 I loved and sold it to buy a 11-87 and regretted selling it. I have friends that have the beretta and benelli and love them.

To do it right you'll need at least 2 barrels, maybe 3. You won't find a semi in that price range with another barrel for $1,000. Mossberg and Remington pumps are reasonably priced with an assortment of reasonably priced and available barrels that will meet your needs and budget.

The Beretta and Benelli are much better guns than than the 11-87, but are also about 2X the cost and over budget. The 11-87, or any semi with a 24 or 26" barrel could work for turkey and skeet just fine. It could be pressed into deer hunting service, but a slug barrel would make it much more effective.

In addition to the 11-87 I've heard great things about the Mossberg 930, I'd look at it too. The Stoeger 2000 is another good budget semi to consider. Of course there is also the possibiity of finding a good used Beretta or Benelli. That is the route I took, then sold my 11-87. Finding one in camo is unlikely though.

24"is really too short to shoot skeet well - having said that, I am sure someone will come along and brag how they whup all the skeet shooters with their fancy guns by using their short barreled gun - it is bound to happen.

28" will work nicely for skeet, giving you the swing dynamics required. Whether 28 is too long for turkey is up for you to decide. many folks today want a rifle barrel length for their shotgun, while their ancestors were quite happy with their 30"barrel SxS duck guns; the same holds true for deer and similar games.

What feels the best and fits you is what is most important in the end, so get what YOU are comfortable getting, knowing you might have to compromise on one aspect or another for optimum performance - but that might not be a big deal in your mind

I've killed at least 50 gobbs with my 870's and most of those I've guided either used one of mine or their 870. For the most part, an old 870's with a fixed mod choke has put many of those birds down, 3" mags with copper plated BB.
Couldn't help ya with a deer purpose SG suggestion, I live where high powered rifles and handguns are legal.

My favorite turkey gun is an old Mossberg Model 9200 with a 24" vent rib barrel with a turkey choke tube and Mossbergs own version of a woodland camo finish. I broke it in by shooting 250 rounds of various field and target loads that I had on hand one afternoon. Ran through all of them, mixed loadings and all, without a single problem. It's been doing just fine ever since.

Why an auto and why a 12 gauge? I bought this for geese, actually, but it's the best patterning shotgun I've ever owned and it's not a 12. It set me back 200 bucks and if i were to go turkey hunting with a shotgun, I'd take this with some 6s and the turkey choke it came with.

I admit, it's not for clays or anything else, but as a turkey gun it's hard to beat just because of how tight it patterns. As a goose gun, it's pretty danged good, too, using a modified choke and steel T shot. And, for something like 80 bucks, you can have this gun fitted with a 12 gauge rifled barrel. The gun is 9 lbs, and with the rifled barrel IIRC, it's a bit over 9 lbs. recoil is not a problem.
