Looking to Buy an AK-47

I bought a sar-2 AK 74 (5.45x39) 8 months ago it's my first and only Ak so far I am very pleased 1000+ rnds through it no probs yet accurate and reliable. $350 out the door no extra accesories though. I bought a scope so I could see farther down range 4 in at 100 yrds off hand my fault. on a bench I keep it in two inches. ammo can be hard to get so when it comes around stock up. Don't let my shooting speak for the gun though I have alot more practice to get it where I want it.

I would advise against the Chinese ones. Mine is from China, and it is less reliable than my AR after 500 rounds of Wolf.

I likey all ak's , they are so cool. that being said , there are good ones out there to be had, vepr, arsenal, krebs is very nice, and very expensive. But i've go t3 saigas, all with 16 inch bbls, all are moa capable, even with open sights, and even though they are plain janes, i like 'em that way. Allthough the conversions are very tempting! I spent less than 300 bucks on all of them.

If my life depended on it I'd take an untested SAR-1 over ANY untested kit build (like vector). The SAR-1 receiver is about as close as you can get to a real AKM. The only thing closer is a Y-stamped maadi.

I personally dont like the finish on vectors, but I've read nothing but good things about them.

That my friends, is the beauty of the AK. Whether is a top of the line, brand new, pretty gun, or one hammered out of old rail road track over a Pakistani campfire, they are going to be reliable.

That bears repeating, I think.

Whatever you decide on will work. :)
