Hello everyone!
Please accept my apologies if this isn't the propped location for this post, but I haven't found a classifieds area in THR yet.
I am looking to buy a used single stage press, but there aren't any for sale locally. Is anyone here trying to sell their old single stage press?

Ebay and Craigslist are your friends here. I've bought for years from Ebay and never been burned. Just look for someone with good ratings before you buy. I've gotten most of my reloading equipment through ebay and saved a lot of money. I've looked but never had much luck with Craigslist.

Yes got to ebay and search for loading press -lee. That way all the comercial ads for the lee stuff is filtered out. The stuff remaining is RCBS,C-H, Redding Hornady, and any press that is listed other than lee.
I got tired of going through all the dealer listings for the lee stuf.

Used presses you can run your hands over to check for rust and excessive wear AND you know the lowest retail price you can buy it for can be good. My long time rule for any used tool is half price; any more than that gets too close to the cost of a new one to matter. Sadly, a LOT of eBay reloading stuff goes for nearly new cost these days, sometimes more when you add the shipping cost.

You don't say what you expect to do with your reloading and that matters a lot. Anyway, if you're new to the game you would be well served with a single stage press no matter what you will eventually do. There's no better single stage press available than Lee's Classic Cast and the mail order price from dealers like MidwayUSA and others is quite reasonable.

I have a RCBS Reloader Special 5 single stage press I may consider selling. PM me an offer. I am in California BTW.

PM sent.

Ranger-
I am looking for a single stage press to resize .223 to 300 BLK. I already have a LNL-AP and just want a simple, inexpensive setup for resizing. But I want a quality press for the money, but can't justify the price of a new press just for resizing. I know that I can accomplish this with my LNL, but I want to separate my resizing operation and my loading operation - not too efficient, I know, but i'm not looking for huge amounts of brass...

Depends on what you want to DO with it.
I looked for a used 1-stage without much luck. I just wanted it for depriming and sizing pistol brass.
I bought a "NEW" Lee reloader press for $27 and it works fine for my use and was less expensive than any used press I could find..

I see you answered my question above. This press will do it, but it doesn't give a lot of leverage. For the price, it may be worth a try and it can be sold easily enough if you're not happy with it.

Sorry a little OT but I refuse to spend a thin dime on Ebay or use their PayPal because they are a California anti-gun company! Ever since Ebay banned bullets (not live ammo, bullets) magazines, shotgun barrels and anything else that touches the ammo I have not done any business on their site. If they are anti-gun they don't get my money!!!

Sorry for the rant, I just had to say it...

A lot of Ebay's gun restrictions have been lifted. From my understanding just about everything save for actual guns or live ammo is allowed again.

If you're that gung-ho about it though, just search Gunbroker instead. They have a nice selection of gun-stuff too (though usually not as much used reloading equipment as ebay).

Buy a new Lee Classic Cast single stage for about $80 or so on various sites. Its the best single stage out there, anyone that says its crap is a brand whore and has obviously never used one

A ditto for Buckeye. Most of the brand whores have never even seen a Classic Cast. much less used one, so they loudly speak from a 'solid' position of total ignorance.

Not being a brand whore as you call them but will the lee hold up to 50 years of use and still keep going after that, just asking?

I've only had my stuff for ~8 years, but it shows pretty much no wear from that (aside from a small fleck of paint that did chip off the side of the press, though I doubt that's gonna make it break down :)). Other than that, they work as well as they day they were purchased. My bet is that they'll still be working for as long as I need them to. If that's 50 years, I'm betting the stuff will be working just fine.

Some of us couldn't care less how the press will do in 50 years.
If that's your standard, stick with it.

This precisely why I DO use eBay & paypal.
I just love tweaking their noses.

I can buy pistol grips, dies, etc on eBay
And MBC accepts paypal for my bullets.

My point about lasting a long time is i would put my my old rockchucker up agasint any new one and judge the quality of mfg. i know we are a throw away society but ive put a few rounds through my presses and they are still cranking them out. 50 years well thats just darn good quality which yo dont anymore. Not knocking the new stuff as i hope my LNL holds up as well.

Almost every other reloading manufacturer guarantees their tools for Life...Lee chooses to guarantee theirs for 24 months.

Wrong.... bullets, brass and mags are still prohibited.

This is what they (Lee) puts in writing, however I've never had any trouble having Lee replace free of charge anything I broke, even tho it was my fault and way way over 2 years old. But then I've only experienced a broken/worn out part twice in my experience.
