I live in Allentown PA and was interested in shooting scenarios with my pistol. I dont know of any local places to go that has a course to shoot on. they all just have the normal firing lines. Is there anyone here local to me that might know?

Do a search for International Defensive Pistol Association. Then locate local branches that hold action shoots. I think you will find a club within driving distance. Show up on match date to observe the first time and ask questions as to the "rules of the road".

I'd just show up with your gear and be ready to shoot because you're going to want to. Get there early and offer to help. Don't become a theme park guest like the turds we have that come to shoot with us.

You need a gun, holster, 2-mag mag carrier, belt, ammo (200 rounds just to be safe), and at least 3 magazines. Read through the rule book before the match and also make sure your gear is somewhat legal. Newbies usually get a pass on gear for the first couple of matches (at least from me).

If and when you decide to shoot, listen to what the SOs are saying and take your time. A good friend always tells the new guys to relax because they aren't going to win anyway...play the game against yourself, not everyone else there.
