Loose Muzzle Brake

I have one of those CA legal Yugo SKSs and I noticed that the muzzle brake is loose on it. The weld they fixed the muzzle brake on with looks like it did not hold and the actual weld is now cracked. Is this going to be a problem?

You betcha it'll cause problems. Even if the bullet doesn't hit the brake and knock it off the gun, the inconsistent harmonics from it will open your group. Suggest getting it fixed or removed.

Thanks for the help. That’s what I was thinking the problem would be but I wanted to check with the experts here. Well I guess I'll just have the thing removed since I never even wanted it there in the first place. Which leads me to my next question, does anyone know of a competent gunsmith in the Orange County CA area that can and will take off my muzzle break?
