Loose primer pockets

I have never tried something like that. I not sure how good it will work if the cases are bad now how long would it take for the primer pocket to losen up again. I think I would scrap them.

I plan on scrapping them, definitely don't plan on spending $45 on something that may or may not work. I was mostly just curious.
The thing is, however, this brass is not "worn out". It's good, once-fired brass, especially the French stuff. The primer pockets were made that way, for oversize primers. I have no idea why. I bought it as reloadable brass, to quickly find out it is all scrap.

I would be concerned about case head separation. If the pressure was high enough to expand the primer pocket it might be just high enough to blow the head off. Take a paper clip and straighten it out. At the end put a small section bent at 90degrees. Run this part up and down in the case right where the head is. If you feel any rough spots chuck it. If you can get your hands on some new brass of the same make you might try measuring the case rim and head area. If the rims are the same and the pockest are the same it's a manufacturing problem. If the rim of the fired case is larger then the unfired it is a pressure problem. I know that brass costs but surgery costs more. If there is anything left to operate on.

Remember rule number one in this game is "Don't blow your face off."

Sell it.

Hey there.
Don't mean to be cocky but never heard of anything good coming from France. Seems like I got $1.65/ pound for the last brass I sold. Empty primers are brass too.

I have found that the 60A head stamped Taiwanese .30'06 has a 0.213 primer pocket and a 0.210 primer will not stay put in a primer pocket of that size.

P5 Guy hit the nail on the head. This stuff is exactly like the Tiawanese brass; I have some of it also. The primer pocket issue has nothing to do with pressure, and there is no sign at all of any case separation; it was made this way. It really does look like great brass, but unless someone knows of a source for .212"+ boxer primers, to the scrap yard it goes.

I would suggest MAGTECH primers. I have used many different brands and those seem to be the tightest fit on my 45acp.

I have found this to be true, myself:)
