Lord of War

Yea... I'm also feeling that Hollywood indignation right about now...

:barf:

I'll reserve final judgement though.

It's one of those Hollywood dramatic things. At least 50% of guns on display are at slidelock and all autos must have the slide racked before they can come into action.

Anyways, thank God the ATF is there to save the day.

Well, I liked the very first part where Cage says that there is one gun for every 12 people on the planet--how do we arm the other 11. After that, it lost me.

It's just an agitprop piece for the U.N. The writer/director has been critically lauded for his movies (Gattaca,The Truman Show,Simone) but with the exception of the Truman show they've mostly been flops. He's an intelligent, left wing elitist. Next.

I suspect only action movie junkies are going to watch the movie anyway by the trailer, so Hollywood's message will most likely be lost on the audience anyway. That is unless, antigun advocates start holding it up as an example on cable tv.

BTW - if he's buying and selling weapons outside the US (whether or not the movie character is ) does the BATFE have any jurisdiction?

Gattaca was a great movie in my opinion. I guess this one could go either way, but I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of Nicholas Cage so that's at least one strike against it.

:neener: Are you guys kidding - this looks like a hoot! Just don't take it seriously, and laugh - "Do you have the gun of Rambo?"
"One, two or three?"
" I have only seen One!" :neener:

You know they call me the Lord of war, but I think maybe it's you.
It's Warlord.
I think I like it my way better.

I don't think it's a commentary on the average gunowner. It appears to be an over-the-top action flick about international illegal gunrunning.

Obviously he hasn't hung around here much - on THR, I'd guess there are about 12 guns for every member! :D
Heh. When I heard that line, my first reaction was, some people obviously aren't pulling their own weight. ;)

Don't know about the rest of the population, but hey, at least I have everybody in my immediate family covered. Even those too small to be able to use one. :)

Yea that cracked me up. :D

Probably the best part of the movie though.

Actually, it looks like it might be a funny movie. It may not necessarily be a movie expressing anyones viewpoints, I think its just that every protagonist needs an antagonist and in this particular movie, the antagonist is just some anti-gun guy played by ethan hawke.
