So i've worked with a couple of guys on the team. Taught 'em how to shoot (to my best abilities) and how to be responsible. i felt like they could take care of themselves. this may be outrages to a few, but i went ahead and bout a box of 9mm for them. we dont live in the best place in the world (10 breakin over x-mas in one complex) and we are constantly targeted. so one box for the both sounded ok.

so about three in the mornin i hear three shot ring out. YIKES. i jump up make ready and just wait. then it happened again about a week later. so i asked around and found out my buddies did it.:fire: so should i just drop 'em? i really feel like i need to stick with it so i dont give the anti's more fodder.

i know someones been here before.
 
Football team?

SWAT team?

College fraternity drinking team?

Please explain what the heck you're talking about.
 
You're going to have to explain in plainer language.

What actually happened? Who shot what at what and why?
 
So i have been a bit to vague. I'm on a college level football team. I'll leave the rest up to ya'll

It was just one of them. I thought he listened to me and all that i told him. Keyword ther would be "thought" i guess. But i guess his whole image caught up with him and the had to show off.

And They shot it into the ground. Not at anything with the intention of harming anyone. sorry if i made it sound like a horrible situation.
 
College football and guns? Come on now. You know you have to drill it in their heads for at least 6 months before you let them even touch the trigger. Seriously, you need to sit this fellow down and explain the facts of life real good to him. One thing he dosen't need is a gun charge on him that would keep him from being able to own one EVER. Sounds to me like a drunk prank, if that's the case you need to get them to give you the guns when the booze comes out.
 
Where were they discharging a 9mm at at 3 in the morning? On a campus? Well, regardless...you bought this ammo for them and they are acting like morons with it. If they accidentally shoot someone where do you think the investigation is going to lead? Friends?
 
Hmmm.... I was in college once. Knew lots of football players (I lived in the same dorm as most of the football team). They were big and strong and at least 2 of the guys I knew went on to very successful NFL careers. And almost all of them had the maturity level of a 6 year old. Their only interests were football, sex, beer and pot (not necessarily in that order).

No good answers here. These children need to be disarmed. Or at least given a stern lecture. If it continues to happen, an anonymous tip to local law enforcement might be in order.
 
I agree more details are needed.

Specifically, how old are they, how old are you?
You provided ammo for them, who provided the firearms?

You talk about trying to teach them responsibility, well, you need to display some responsibility right now. Sure, the shooting into the ground caused no harm, but what it is, is a sign of a lack of understanding of what these tools are capable of doing, and how/when they should be employed.

YOU had a direct hand in this when you got them ammo, YOU now need to be responsible, step up and end this problem. This may well have serious repocussions for both them and you, the least of which may be your friendship with them. But part of being responsible is doing what needs to be done even if it is 'inconvenient' or 'uncomfortable'
 
Akodo is correct. You have a reasonably high degree of responsibility, and you need to get this straight before the ones you helped and bought ammo for are in trouble. The fallout will get you.
