Lost loading data for my 375 H&H

I have a 375 H&H that I haven't shot in over 25 years. Got it out of the safe and its still a beautiful rifle with crislp clean rifling and I want to shoot it again. It used to be a sub MOA rifle but Ive lost my loading data for it. I'm loading up 10 rounds with hornady 270 gr spire tech bullets and 68.5 gr of 4064 for a starter load but I know that isn't what I used to shoot. I'll know tomorrow if thats where I want to start but in the mean time I need some suggestions on accurate loads for this sweetheart. Thanks in advance. FRJ

What manual are you using, maybe something old?
Current www.hodgdon.com data shows 60gr of IMR4064 as a start load using a 260gr Nosler Partition, and 67gr as a maximum in the 375 H&H.

My very old Lyman manual shows a starting load of 64 gr. of IMR 4064 and a max. of 71 gr. with a 270 gr.Bullet.
I am working more with lighter bullet weights. 225 to 235 gr.
Fun cartridge to work with.

Yes my data comes from several older manuals, Hornady 3rd edition shows a max load of 71.5 gr of 4064with a 270 gr bullet.. My Speer #10 shows 73 gr max with a 285 gr bullet and my Sierra V Edition shows 68 gr with a 300 gr bullet and 71.5 with a 250 gr bullet. The Sierra is only a few years old. I have always been told that powder burn rates for canister powder are kept constant therefore the older data should still be valid. BUT Smitty is dead on about Hodgden and I'm going to load some with 62, 64, 66gr of 4064 just to be sure of what I'm doing!!!! It's preety easy to load a few rounds with less powder, but kinda hard to put a barrel or action back together after you've blown it up with too much powder!!! My old load I think was with 4350 or 4831 but I'm not sure and I need data anyhow so please keep on posting your loads. FRJ

OK after LCsmitty's post I decided to hold back on shooting the 68.5 loads till I worked up to them. I started with 64gr and worked up 1 gr at a time to 68 then shot the 68.5 loads. All is fine and actually there were no pressure signs with that load. I then shot some rounds I had loaded some 25 or 30 years ago with 235 gr Speer bullets and the pressure signs on them were greater than my 270gr with 68.5 gr loads. I've got to put a scope on this rifle and maybe rebed it before I start some real intensive work on loads but it looks like this sweetheart still has the ability to shoot great groups. FRJ
