Anyone watch Lou Dobbs on CNN tonight? Guess he spent a few days with the Minute Men and was impressed. He has since had several folks on and has given them hell for not doing anything.

Kinda suprising for CNN.

Your take?

CNN is getting reamed in the ratings by Fox. If you cant beat them, join them in being fair and balanced.

Lou Dobbs could also know an obviously good story when he sees one and wants to be remembered for being on the right side of it.

Lou Dobbs is an interesting character. He also started and runs Space.com.

Anyway - I much appreciated that he spent a few days a few weeks ago going over the insane trade deficit we have with China and how China has been dumping textiles at increasingly enourmous rates into the US, which is basically killing off an industry domestically that has been in trouble. Sound familiar? (TV's, Stereo's, Toys...)

Look I am a fair market guy, collegiate degree in econ and business - traveler of the world. However it is not "fair" when a country run by a totalitarian "communist" system subsidizes industries and controls wages of workers artificially low can be allowed to throw that product in our markets without controls. Not many other countries allow this without tarrifs. They have a surplus of near slave labor at their disposal, and it's all subsidized by their government. It's trade, but it's not "fair". The lobby is strong in D.C. keeping that arrangement afloat. It's not a simple issue, but it's results thus far have not been to the good of the US, except drive consumerism maybe more wild that current levels of consumer debt also reflect. Court still open on that one. One thing is for sure, our current fuel costs are also reflected in China's own booming economy (largely from us), they are putting pressure on world supply. Oh yea for us.

...I said it before: And you still shop at Walmart.

Dobbs has the unmitigated gall to point out the unpolitically correct consequences of "Fair Trade." Paying attention to the border games is merely an extension of his current emphasis.

I too am a free trade kinda guy. All you gotta do is show it to me. WTO, NAFTA, CAFTA, FTAA, ad nauseum don't qualify as free trade.

Lou Dobbs had a pro-RKBA guy on right after the AWB sunset. He kept asking questions like "why do you need semi automatics to hunt ducks?". He then dismissed the speaker saying "well...when I was a kid, all we needed to shoot pheasants was a .22".

I believe he also had a pro-Gun Control personality on, but she did not have to say much since Mr. Dobbs was getting in all the digs against eeeeeevil assault weapons.

Don't go hunting near Mr. Dobbs unless you want a .22 caliber projectile hitting you on top of the head. :uhoh:
