Did anyone else catch this bs? He also said, in a condescending manner that can only be captured by seeing the video, that it's not sporting to use semi-autos for hunting and that he'd never consider using one. :barf: Is this guy supposed to be a commentator or a reporter? His show seems to be presented as a news show, but he clearly leans in a certain direction. After the senator from Minnesota he had on his show (can't remember who it was) gave him several facts showing why the awb is ridiculous, when fienswine asked to respond he smiled and said "i wish you would." Then she went on with her usual bs about how she knows the awb has reduced crime (without giving anything to support her claim) and that "some of these guns can fire 30 rounds in 3 seconds."

Yeah I saw it. Then the one senator asked if his .22 was a semi-auto, Lou said "It was a single shot".

I saw this too. He kept on arguing that hunting with a semi-automatic gun was not "sporting".

The Senator (I don't think he was from MN) pointed out that "if you take a shot, the cartridge is ejected and replaced with a new cartridge so you are ready for another shot. Don't you think this would be useful when a flock of ducks comes in?"

This loser retorted that he has hunted pheasants...with a .22...single-shot.

Why don't these "journalists" interject their "experiences" with lefties?

I'd like to know how shooting pheasants on the ground with a freakin' rifle is "sporting". Or does he shoot them in the air? I hope he doesn't come hunting anywhere near me.:uhoh:

that's exactly what I was thinking.

That's when you tell him: "Lou that's great, why don't you go and try to hunt bear with that thing. Let us know how that goes."

jh

Lou Dobbs, do you have any idea of how far a bullet travels?

That was a REALLY SAFE way of shooting pheasants, dontcha know?

You must have been one mean hombre with that .22 rather than a shotgun - a regular Annie Oakley I guess!

sure he didnt say he used to hunt PEASANTS? There aint much of a difference between how those sound

After his school buddies took him on seven snipe hunts and he still didn't catch on, they just told him they'd actually been after pheasants the whole time, then ditched him and never spoke to him again.

He's a jerk. My boss was interviewed by him a couple of months ago and gave it right back to him. He was clueless and making job/unemployment figures up out of thin air.

He's got about as much credibility as Dan Rather.

I caught this show, too.

Dobb's mind has clearly been destroyed by Grecian Formula poisoning. He did say that semi automatics were not sporting.

Feinstein, of course, has no mind, just a collection of emotional impulses.

I've heard tales of people hunting pheasant with a .22, but never seen it done. The way I heard it, folks during the depression used the technique when hunting for the pot. It certainly is not sporting, but folks in a subsistence mode generally have a mindset focused on efficiency. It would have to be a matter of shooting them on the ground, probably after a fairly cunning stalk.

Now. . .I want a 10/22 with a folding stock, synthetic furniture and a HUGE magazine.

I try hard to be a good shot. I have a good rifle with a heavy barrel, a Timney trigger and a powerful scope sight.

If I live to be a thousand years old I'll never be as good as my dad was. We occasionally had to scrounge for dinner (scrounge-- that's another word for 'poach') and dad always used a rifle. If the target was within a hundred yards he'd use the .22 but if it was further he frequently went to the .30-06. He'd lay on the roof of the house with the rifle laying on the peak and blast away. Then I'd run out and pick up the pheasant he'd shot. One shot sticks in my memory. I picked up the bird and the only thing I could see wrong with it was the one eye hanging out. We finally decided that dad had actually missed his target but the bullet had gone so close that it sucked the eye out.

True story.

Fineshine's opponent on the show was Sen. Larry Craig, (R) Idaho.
He did a fine job, I thought. Notice how he corrected DiFi's statement of semiautos shooting 30 rounds in 3 seconds or whatever? He pointed out that only full automatic machine guns, regulated by law since the mid 1930's were capable of that. Way to go, Senator Craig!

DiFi would die if she could see Jerry Mickulek(sp?) shooting a revolver at speed...:what:

Isn't hunting game birds on the ground with a rifle slightly illegal? Hell, I had a friend who once went after squirrels in his yard with a fishing rod, baited his hook with chunky peanut butter, and it almost worked, but just because he's a wierdo dosen't mean everyone needs to do it that way... sheesh.

I didn't see the show, but if the Senator was from Minnesota, that would be Norm Coleman.

Wow. A .22 single shot for pheasants. He's a good shot for being so anti-gun.

Depending on state game laws...

Depending on what the state game laws were/are, hunting fowl with a rifle may have been/is illegal. I can only speak for my state of Missouri, where we are not allowed to use any kind of rifle for turkey, quail or other bird hunting. We may use shotguns or bows.

I realize that in some states, you are allowed to hunt turkey with rifles, but those are generally centerfire rifles as you are hunting them from a couple hundred yards away.

Then there are the predators with kevlar hides...for that you need something that will punch through.

I hate to admit that I was once a local weekly newspaper reporter. I had to bite my tongue around my editor when she spouted off about this or that about hunting or firearms. I even got ribbed by my highpower rifle club members when they asked me what I did. I explained that not all media people are mindless leftist zombies.

Besides, I think that some of the highpower club members may have thought I was a bit nuts as I consider rifle matches and hunting to be good practice for keeping my skills honed for the purpose stated in the Second Amendment. I want to have my skills down for when I may be facing a predator that fires back.

Di-Fi said we were selfish. Can you imagine that. We are selfish because we believe in the 2nd amendment and want it protected with no more restrictions than oh lets say abortion.( or other rights) Now really which right shows more personal me, me, me and selfishness????????????
