So my 21st birthday passed recently and I thought I'd finally get around to filing the CHP application that I started when I was 19. (I'm the same height and weight...).

So I double checked it was all filled out correctly, completed an online gun safety course, printed out the proof of completion certificate, and I have all these papers in hand...

Now what?:D

I don't see an address I can mail it to, and I'm not exactly sure what the next step is!

Do I hand deliver it to the courthouse in Leesburg or something?

Any advice would be great!

Application for a Concealed Handgun Permit
Any person 21 years of age or older may apply in writing to the clerk of the circuit court of the county or city
in which he or she resides, [...]for a five-year permit to carry a concealed handgun.

Hand deliver it to the court then?

...

Don't see that it has to be hand-delivered. "In writing" would indicate that mailing it would be fine, I think.

Thanks!

Now I just have to get the bugger notarized and I think I'll drop it off in person tomorrow morning so I can pay in cash.

All done!
Now I just need to wait.

VA Statutory Limit for fees is $50. I only paid $40, coupled with $25.00 for the class bring the grand total to: $65.00 for a VA CHP. Not to bad.

Already got myself a FrontLine thick leather IWB holster for my CZ75B.

T-minus 45 days.

Cool! And congrat's! Nice choice on the carry gun, too. If you find a mag pouch that doesn't make those blasted sharp-edged mag base-plates chew holes in you, let me know.

Kinda.. uh.. out of date eh?

No understanding of Virginia lethal force law , eh?

Virginia has no statute law governing the use of lethal force.

It is all case (common) law and changes very slowly (if it all).

The references to decided cases that ARE the common law are not known to change.

The 7th edition should be newer than that anyway.

You sound like the exact type that needs to read it.

I know very well of the common law, and its 400 year history. Thats just it though, I know OF it.

First link of the El Goog was the older one.

I first took offense to this, then I realized, you were right!

Buying it now. Thanks!

If you brought it in in person, you wouldn't have had to get it notarized, they would confirm it right there.

Loudoun County Circuit Court
Permit to carry a concealed handgun

Arrived in the mail yesterday!

Hit a bump along the way with a misdemeanor on my record and the court had outdated information. 2 felony charges (Dont even get me started...) changed to 1 misdemeanor, and they sent me a letter asking my I had 3 OPEN charges on my record, and why I lied about not having any open charges. Needless to say some photocopies and a trip back to Leesburg settled that out.

2 Days ago I started Open Carrying. Now I can CC. Oddly enough I liked OC better  Its fun to listen what people say to eachother in line when you OC at a Wendys...
