Nice to see. Obviously most states won't do this but it's nice to see.

Louisiana Attorney General Denies $600 Million to Citibank, Bank of America Over Gun Control

16 Aug 2018

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry and the state’s Bond Commission denied $600 million to Citibank and Bank of America over the gun control stance adopted by both companies.

Citibank and Bank of America were both to be part of a road financing plan in the state, but were omitted from the financial plan after arbitrarily placing new gun controls on banking customers.

Citibank is interesting. They have an affiliate in India which specializes in stealing donor's deposits. I am currently wrestling with them over deposits made by an 80-year old priest who wants to donate his money to charity.

What they do is refuse to send checks or deposit slips on request. When the donor runs out, the account becomes "inactive" and they confiscate it.

I personally think Citibank New York should pay up -- they allow the Non Resident Indian affiliate to use their name to lure in victims.

I tore up my Bass Pro , Bank of America card a long time ago .

My hat is off too the Louisiana Attorney General .

While I applaud his decision, I unfortunately have little faith that any politician does anything unless it benefits them personally, either politically or financially.

Citibank, at least in the late 80's-early 90's, was a totally corrupt enterprise. Carlos Salinas, the Mexican President 1988-1994, has been well documented as being on the take of the nascent cartels in Mexico at that time. He collected 10's of millions of dollars from them and the Colombians for protection. The US State Dept. knew of this but, not wanting to upset the apple cart and possibly allow a communist insurgency in MX, allowed it to go on. Citibank was the money launderer of choice for Salinas to move the money into Ireland.

This isn't tinfoil hat nonsense. The money trail is well laid out and footnoted in an excellent book by respected journalist Charles Bowden in " Down By The River". https://www.amazon.com/Down-River-Drugs-Murder-Family/dp/0743244575 The criminals at Citibank and Salinas got completely away with it because State was afraid of commies in MX and Columbia as well they should have been. Unfortunately, the Cartels not only have kept out the commies but everyone else from what was once a beautiful and gracious country.

I actually just came here to post about this (I read it on The Daily Wire), you beat me to the punch. Very nice to see the door swinging the other direction for once. :)

Go Tigers!

Corporations have the personality of a human psychopath. The book The Corporation: The Pathological Pursuit of Profit and Power more than made the case for this. Corporations have no guilt, no shame, no empathy, are totally focused on their immediate wants and desires, devil take tomorrow and the world. They are highly manipulative, and also, important in this discussion, you can only have a master/slave relationship with one. If you are negotiating with one, they know you are weak. I doubt Louisiana can make an attitude change in the huge corporations, but in giving them some pain, at least they are talking in the only language they respect.

You realize, of course, that the government is a corporation.

I don't know if the Government is a "corporation", but what I have determined is that all large organizations act like human psychopaths. They never admit fault for one thing. Even organizations that claim to be God's representative on earth. I have only read reviews of the Pennsylvania Pedophile Priest Reports, but summaries are 60 years, six dioceses, at least 1000 children determined to be victims, from church records, and all the Church did was deny, deny, deny. Now that it is costing them money, the Catholic Church is repudiating the same bunch of pedophile priests it protected.

And for Governments, just read today, you know that Italian Bridge that fell through lack of maintenance?, the Italian Government is blaming the European Union. It is all the fault of the EU because the EU has deficit spending restrictions, and the Italian Government could not borrow money, and would not take money out of the Mafia budget line item, to make up for low infrastructure spending. Bad EU! Bad EU!

NOUN
  1. a company or group of people authorized to act as a single entity (legally a person) and recognized as such in law.
The government is a group of people authorized to act as a single entity -- for example to declare war, to pass laws and so on.

I think you've made my point -- governments are corporations.-- but with one difference. There is an entity above ordinary business corporations. The is no entity above the government, and hence no control.

It would do them more harm to keep the card but charge only $1 or $2 every billing cycle. That way, they bear all the costs of maintaining the account but make only a few pennies.

I would rather not give Bank of America the impression that I support their actions and hope that Bass Pro would drop them . I will not support a company or a person that I think is doing the wrong thing . I also quit watching the NFL and buying anything from Dick's Sporting Goods .
