The serial killer in Baton Rouge and his likely most recent victimization of Carrie Yoder drives home the point that so called "gun-free" zones are really only criminal empowerment zones.

I extend my most heartfelt condolences to Miss Yoder's friends and family, and to those who were close to the other victims. I am not trying to use these tragedies in an inappropriate way.

We need to get the LA legislature to act before this deviant can victimize anyone else. The LA legislature convenes in two weeks and can remove CCW prohibitions from our campuses.

The above link will allow you to determine who your legislators are.
Write them, call them, e-mail them and visit their offices. Let them know that if they fail to act, some of the next student's blood will be on their hands.

While y'all's sentiment is laudible, why would you trust in the legislature to provide for your safety?

Dying the day before the hopeful law went into effect, even a month or two after signing, but just before being "legal," would appear so unseemly.

Yes, I understand the legal ramifications ..... merely in the meantime, please do thake care, huh?
