Hey gang, starting my first AR build and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good lower parts kit.

Primarily because DPMS pins sometimes aren't really "round." They tend to egg out the pin holes on your lower.

I've done two lowers with Doublestar LPKs. They fit just fine in a pair of Sabre lowers. They don't have the best triggers in the world, but I didn't expect them to be awesome from a box stock LPK with a "service" type trigger. I wouldn't be afraid to use them again.

Send your stock trigger out to Bill Springfield (triggerwork.net). He works wonders. I sent my heavy, gritty trigger out to him and for $39 he turned it into a clean 4# pull that breaks like glass.

Go with the Daniel defense. Cheaper than dirt has them for 86 dollars and it comes with a magpul enhanced trigger guard and moe pistol grip. It's the best deal for the money and you know it's good if they put their name on it.

I used Daniel Defense on my last build as it's recognized as a great LPK. Unfortunately they're not all the same quality out there.

I've done two PSA lowers for a .223 and a .22lr and for what I paid quality has been good. They both go BOOM! BANG! KAPOW!

Daniel Defense LPK. There are enough negative threads mixed in with the positives on Springfield triggers that I would avoid it. I don't like the idea of having a human hone away at individual trigger groups, each slightly different from the next versus a consistent factory product. I'd always pick the factory product. For a similar price, you can get an ALG Defense trigger. They're an entry-level "match" or "improved" trigger over factory. It's a company run by Bill Geissele's wife, and Geissele sets a gold standard in battle-tested match triggers.
