So I'm planning out my "LR-308 Type" build. I want it as lightweight as possible. I plan on buying the super lightweight upper that AR15performance.com is coming out with this year.

I'm thinking about the a CTR stock and MIAD grip, is there anything better thats lightweight that will help with the recoil and be good for a scope?

Also I'm thinking about the Trijicon TR20-2 3-9x40 Amber Dot scope, any thoughts on that? It seems like a very lightweight good scope to me that would work well in low-light. Also looked at the SWFA SS 3-9x42 but its a bit heavier.

PS: There are two basic types of .308 AR15s right? The AR10 and LR-308 pattern rifles. Is there a better name than saying LR-308 type guns?? AR10 sounds cool, that doesn't.

The CTR is lightweight but it sure ain't to comfy for a scope. I like Emods for scopes but then they are heavier. Also there is a 3rd type of ARs in 308, Rock River's LAR8 that uses FAL mags I have one. RRA just released a bunch more models of the LAR8 after SHOT.

Do you guys like the Magpul ACS or the Vltor Modstock better for use with a scope? The ACS has the friction lock so that might have less wiggle right?

Anybody know the weight difference? The ACS weighs .86lbs but I can't find any info on the Vltor
