Going to start reloading a few 270's w/IMR4350 and 130g. Only primers i have for large rifle are magnum.

What is the work up percentage for magnum primers vs. standard primers for large rifle? Do i drop the load 10% from max and start up, or do I just start at the starting load and work up?

Never tried LRM primers in standard rifle loads.

Thanks!

The general rule of thumb is, Any time you change components, you start from the starting load and work up.

On the other hand, if you are currently shooting a mid-level charge with standard primers?
I would not hesitate to use the Mag primers with the same load.

Of course it may not be the most accurate load it was before if you worked it up with standard primers.

Best bet is I call the powder manufacturer and see if they have data or what they have to say about it in general

You will be fine using magnum primers with a listed starting load, just work up as normal with a little respect for the listed maximum loads.

I use magnum primers in my 270 with 4350 and the Nosler 130 gr BT. I am using near maximum recommended load and not seeing any pressure issues. Accuracy is great. Start conservatively and work your way up.
