Wife wanted to go yard sailing this morning instead of the beach because of a chance of rain. Indeed I say I'm feeling lucky!
Off we go. At 9 AM. First six or so she scores some clothes, and books for the grand kids, me I see nothing I like.
# 7 is a huge multi family about ten table I wonder around a find a table filled with guy stuff manned by a cool old guy, not as cool as me but almost:)

In the corner of one table is a 50 cal ammo can filled with tools with a sign a buck a piece. I rummage but there is nothing of interest UNTIL I find a LEATHERMAN SUPER TOOL 200,
Eureka alert!

It is not in bad shape , little surface rust, but no pitting. All the blades are in good shape and it is tight but a little oil will fix that.
I pull out a buck and cool old guy says " that is a little sad looking, give me .50 ¢ DONE DEAL.!!!

We hit few more and get some lunch and head home for the Nascar race. I wipe it down with oil, hit the rust with 000 steel wool, oil the pivots and sharpen the blade. It is 95% prefect.

I Google it. The 200 was top of the line from 2001 to 2005 then replaced by an improved model that led to the present day super tool 300.

I'm happy as H E double L

Awesome find and all for the princely sum of two quarters!

Don't you just love a happy ending!

I'm gunna need a pic of the alledged knife with a current newspaper to believe this tall tale.

Lol...There's commercial this reminds me of; I don't know if its nationwide.

Lady at Target being rung-up at the register and thinking, because the prices are so low, that she must be being rung-up incorrectly. She super quickly walks out of the store yelling across the parking lot to her hubby that was waiting for her,,,,, "START THE CAR ...START THE CAR!! !!"

I can picture bikerdoc, after paying, casually going over to his wife and saying 'Don't act suspicious, just get in the car......"

Finally...photos! A little blurry but still, they're real photos! Yay!

Oh and nice job cleaning your "new" Leatherman up!

Bikerdoc- great find:) Keep in mind too that all Leatherman's have a 25 year warranty.

congrats on a great fined. It really is amazing what you can find at a garage sale. Alway's ask the home owner if they have any firearms or ammo they want to get rid of. I have made some great finds. Example, One of my last visits, I bought a Air Rifle for $50.00.Now worth every bit of $400.

Bob:cool: that is deal.! 100%
Over years never found a bargain Randall but a few sad, tired serviceable shrades camillus, westerns and such

I ran into a Randall Made one night at a el cheapo service station (remember actual manned service stations?) when I found myself running on empty and hot in an old Oldsmobile. It was right at closing time and the attendant had already started taking in the window washing stuff and vacuum cleaner and one of the two oil displays. I handed him a five and commented that I might need oil and got out myself to check the oil while he pumped my three and a half gallons that would barely get me home in that old 8 mile to the gallon street battle cruiser. Yep, grodie black stuff barely coated the tip of the oil stick so I fished out the last dollar from my wallet for whatever 30 weight was available (whoo-hoo I would get change for all on display was Old Top Kick recycled motor oil!) The can cutter and spout was in its drip bucket on the put away oil rack so the attendant whipped out a small Randall to cut the can with. Yep it was sctratched up for doing so a lot and the stag handle nasty with old motor oil and dirt. There followed a conversation that included an envelope that was taped to the back of my car glove box that contained fifty bucks (hey, there are survival kits and there are survival kits, OK?) An I almost got it but then came the "But my brother gave it to me when he came back from da'Nam and he might feel bad if I sold it."

Now that was 40+ years ago so I have to wonder if it might not just be on a folding table in someone's driveway this weekend in a box of rusty Chinese wrenches and miss matched nuts and bolts.

So Biker Doc, if you find it we are gonna hold you to it!
