Hey guys, I'm thinking about putting my '73 manufacture Mauser commercial Luger up for sale, most likely consignment. I know what my books say, but I wanna get a feel for what ya'll think is a reasonable starting point.

It is as new in box, never fired (doesn't look like even the factory did, no indication that brass has ever met chamber or breechface), zero blemishes, and it goes with 4 mags, two mag pouches and 100 rounds. It is chambered in .30 Luger.

If you put it on an auction site like Gunbroker or GunsAmerica you will get what people who happen to watch that site are willing to pay for it and not what the book says. May be more, may be less. Set your reserve price, shipping costs, etc. at what you must have to make yourself happy.

The auction is an almost pure market supply and demand venue.

If I was more of a pistol guy I would be very interested in buying from you here on the trading section. Beautiful gun though.

cleaning brush and tool?? and is that the original sales receipt?

Price?

If this Luger and box etc are not shopworn, and it had the cleaning rod, tool, factory target, and manual, I would say $1200. I don't see those things so you have to take something off that number. On the other hand you are throwing in 100 rounds of ammo and the pouches which adds a bit on, so I'd say that's a wash and you are still around $1200. (The German P08 style grip which it appears you have, will fetch more than the Swiss style grip.)
