FARMERS BRANCH, Texas -- Hispanic leaders said they won't be bullied out of Farmers Branch and plan to purchase every home for sale in the city to make them available for Hispanic families.

The move to purchase more than 150 homes in the city is in response to City Council member Tim O'Hare's proposal to make it harder for illegal immigrants to live and work in the city. Hispanic leaders said they now want to make Farmers Branch the place to live the American Dream -- and the plan to purchase the homes is an investment in the future of the city.

"What we are saying very clearly is that we're making a stand. We are not going to advocate Farmers Branch. Quite the contrary, we're going to invest in Farmers Branch," said Carlos Quintanilla of the League of United Latin-American Citizens. "We are going to motivate people to move into Farmers Branch because we cannot afford to let anyone scare us out of any city."

Jackie Steen has lived in Farmers Branch for more than 20 years and said it doesn't matter what language you speak on her street.

"I think they've always been welcome in Farmers Branch. I think the block where I live that one-third or half of the homes are owned by Hispanics. It's never been a problem. They're good neighbors -- we're good neighbors," said Steen.

Members of LULAC and the Latino Real Estate and Mortgage Professionals are joining together to encourage Hispanic home ownership in the city. They want to sell the available homes to Hispanic families -- including council member O'Hare's home.

O'Hare is on vacation but told NBC 5 that "people of any and all races are welcome to buy my house."

"We just want to own a little piece of Texas just like everybody else," said Xochitl Trejo, a real estate broker.

"The bottom line is we have homes for sale. They need to be bought again -- no matter what race, what color. Let's bring them in," said Christy Hoverter, Farmers Branch homeowner.

Currently there are 157 homes for sale in the city of Farmers Branch worth an estimated $22 million. Prices on the homes vary fom $64,000 to $1.2 million.

It would seem to me that if LULAC has this much money, perhaps they could help repay the enourmous medical bills from their hardworking Mexican illegal immigrants. I always hear how they want to pay their own way, they don't want a handout, well here is your chance to show us that!! Recently Parkland hospital in Dallas was sending Mexico the bills for all of the Illegal aliens they have benn treating!!!!

What they do with their money is their business. If they want to spend millions buying houses to give away to illegals let them.

Then move in the ICE and deport the entire subdivision. :D

League of United Latin-American Citizens.

Hmmm. "American Citizens".

So just how does their ethnic background make them responsible for the costs associated with illegals?

They get lumped in with illegals when their spokespeople go stump for the supposed 'rights' of deported illegal alien MS-13 gang members. NPR is great for keeping track of the enemy's efforts.

So you're saying that

1) American citizens are stupid using their first amendment rights to say things you don't agree with

and

2) "the enemy" includes American citizens of certain ethnic backgrounds?

American citizens can certainly be stupid and certainly can use their 1st amendment rights to make sure everyone else knows they are stupid.

Julius and Ethel Rosenberg and Benedict Arnold were american citizens too. So no skin color doesn't matter, treason is an equal opportunity occupation.

I just wanted to be clear on your position.

It's also refreshing that you've decided to take on the federal task of deciding who is and isn't guilty of treason.

Boy I wish I owned a house there.

simple economics folks, increase in demand = increase in prices ... if these LULAC folk are so interested in buying homes for latnios then NOW is the time to sell because they're going to drive prices up and you'll get top dollar for property that may start to drop in value down the road (after all the hubbub dies down). :D

There is at least one potential problem Keith. I know for a fact that La Raza (The Race) recieves fed funds to propagate their racist, anti-American hate and reconquista agenda and I'd be surprised if LULAC doesn't also. Fact is, I'll put money on it. Any takers?
Incidentally, would you support the Feds giving money to low-life KKKers?

Biker

Biker -- no, I'd rather not any such organization receiver federal funds, nor do I think I said anything to imply that I did support such funding.

The only folks I know personally that are associated with LULAC do not express any "anti-American hate".

Lovely. I love how those groups mix it up. They are talking about buying up the homes and selling them to Hispanics and how many homes are currently owned by Hispanics. All of this is done to flame the argument but draws attention from what the real issue is. NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT HISPANICS!!! The issue at hand has to do with illegal immigrants and, by the way, doesn't even mention from where. Dear lord!! If I hear any more from these guys, I do believe I'll rip my own ears off!!

HEHE

Go to the area, trip on their driveway and sue the homeowner, LULAC for something. People do it all the time....

A few hundred, and they are bankrupt....
