I haven't visited LWRC's site lately, and this definitely caught my eye! I've only heard good things about their rifles. I won't be in the market for another year or so, but I was just wondering if anyone else thought it was cool. Personally, I thought it stood out a little bit from their other models.

Is anybody else impressed? I know most of you guys are die-hard DGI fans, but LWRC's piston rifles have an awesome reputation.

Like? Dislike?

LWRC

I had my hands on a LWRC M6A2 last week and I was very impressed with the weapon. Materials and workmanship seem, to me, to be top notch. I didn't have an opportunity to shoot it, as it was at my local dealers shop.
I am so impressed that I am going to be ordering one next week. I haven't made up my mind on the M6A2 or the M6A3. Either will have the 14.7" barrel with flash suppressor. I like the idea that the A3 has the adjustable gas system though.
I own AR rifles with the DI system as well as other rifles with gas-piston systems, but no AR with a gas-piston. I am looking forward to seeing its accuracy, and how the cleaning process differs between the two.
Some folks say that the gas-piston AR system is a fad, the DI system is fine as long as you keep it relatively clean and well lubricated. My AR weapons are always cleaned and well lubricated and I have never had a malfunction of any kind with them. Then there are others who opine that the gas-piston system has been used in other very successful platforms throughout the decades (H&K, FN, AK's etc.) and it is the future of the AR platform, like it or not.
All I know for sure is that I like the balance, ergonomics, features, materials and fabrication of the LWRC product, and one is in my future.

Pistons are an answer looking for a problem. Some folks, wiser than my self, have made the argument that piston guns are slightly less accurate than DI gun due to the added reciprocating mass. Though to what degree is a matter of argument. There is nothing wrong with the DI system, and ARs do not need to be kept spotlessly clean. I am not sure that pistons are the future. They are interesting but I don't think they solve any major problem or short coming of the rifle.

It is a nice looking rifle. I could not find a price on their site, but I can imagine it is the better part of a couple of thousand. I'd still rather have a JP or a LaRue. But that is just me. Or I could spend that money on ammo and learn to shoot the AR I have.
