Well I sent my 1200 DPS back to the factory today. After trying all the suggestions from the factory technicians I gave up. Hopefully I just got a dud and they will replace it. It would not throw a any charge weight I entered with any consistency. 90% of the time they ended up light by .3 to .4 grains once and awhile it would thrown one right on or within the factory specified 1/10 of a grain. It also was constantly making me rezero the scale. I used three different powders in the scale VV N135, IMR 4064 and Varget. It is fast and I was impressed with that, but the inconsistency of the drops was awful

How about it any other new users out there have anything good or bad to say about this new product.

UPDATE
I sent mine back to the factory and they told me they were not shipping anything till their inventory was done. OK fine, I was told that would be last Friday. Well today I was told that won't be till this Thursday, and nobody can tell me if or even when I may get one back. All I can say is I hope none of you guys have any problems because Lyman's warranty support leaves a little to be desired,
and for that I give them a major thumbs down :cuss:

I really like the unit is it to much to ask for one that really works. Come on LYMAN if this is the way you treat your customers RCBS and Dillon have nothing to worry about. My experience with them have been nothing less then excellent. You might have a nice product but lousy support.

After this experence I would say this is my LAST LYMAN PURCHASE

Dang...I am dying to get one of these scales...I sure hope you just got a bad one and that's not a common issue.

Hopefully they come through for you. Definately keep us posted on how they do CS wise, and how the replacement scale works out.

I've had this unit for about 2 months now.I used 4 different powders in it and had great success. It sounds like you just got a bad unit.My unit has been able to hold the +-.1 all the time.My only beef was the warm up time but now I use that to prep cases.

Well I finally got my 1200 DPS back from Lyman. They replaced it with a new one I have been throwing charges with it tonight with 2 different powders IMR 4064 and VV 135. So far much better then the first scale. Its right on within the the 1/10 gr with my Pact electronic and my RCBS beam scale. I threw some different weight charges and the scale stayed within 1/10gr with each change. This is GOOD :) I am going to load some 30/06 rounds tomorrow for a match on Saturday.

Well it looks like I got a good one this time, but Lyman's warranty service was a let down. Like well get to it when we feel like it. They need a lesson in customer support from Dillon or RCBS.

I still like this scale and hope it keeps working because the dispensing speed is very good.

I just went through the same thing with Lyman. Worked with their tech folks and tried all their tricks. Sent the scale back, after three weeks I called them and they seemed a little confused. Called me back an hour later and advised they were shipping me a new one the next day. The whole deal took 24 days. The new scale seems to be working dead on! I will load some 308 this weekend to check it out. The serial number on this scale in in the 600 range. My first one was serial number 45 ! Maybe they had a bad batch. I bought one on the recommendation of a shooting buddy. He loves his! No problems at all.

Maybe Bowhunter and I got the only two bad units.

Bowhunter I also use VV 540 and VV 135. My 25 grains of VV 135 with a 55 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip is a tack driver! Longest shots so far is 340 yards but the bullet just blows up on impact. 3370 FPS Average velocity.

I use the VV 540 in .308. 44.0 grains and a Serria 168 gr HPBT. Best group to date is .252 for five shots. FN Police 24" barrel! Always under a half inch!
