I picked one up for cheap this weekend, just for nostalgia.

It came with a full set of .357/.38spcl dies, 30-30WCF dies and .308 dies.

Its in need of a repaint but the darn thing is smooth!

Not bad for $40!

Downfall, it takes the old Lyman 310 5/8"x 30 TPI dies, and the "J" type shell holders. I can get a "J" type to RCBS type adapter, no worries there. I hear that someone makes a 7/8'x14 TPI turret for the TLjr, but I can't find his info.

Now, from what I know about this press and playing with one years ago, they aren't really suited for rifle, just not heavy duty enough. I'm going to try to do my lead bullet 30-30 reloading on it or possibly trade the dies I have for a set of .44mag dies

Not really sure, but it will look nice next to the old Rock Chuckers and Pacific "C" I have sitting around for fun.

I'm beginning the resto on it today.

If you all have any info on this press to further help me have fun with it, post up!

I had one. Since I load handgun only it seemed like a good solution. The 7/8 x 14 turrets show up on eBay sporadically by different vendors. Seems like they make a batch, sell them, and disappear fro a while. I bought one and it worked fine. It was from a different vendor than this...

You could email him and see if he's planning on making any more. Ultimately I ended up selling it, but it was a third press so I didn't really need it.

The Tru-Line was my first reloading press. I was using a Lyman Tong Tool. The Tru-Line used the same dies. It is tool small for full length resizing. I had full length dies that were made for use in a bench vice. The case was then reloaded in the Tru-Line. They are neat little presses. Good Luck.

On my disassembly I found the two side "Y" shaped arms have excessive wear in the pins where the snap rings go.

I'm going to have to fix them or call Lyman for replacements

Get the pin boss's bushed with bronze bushings. It'll be smoother and run for ever :)

I have one crimping die for that press. Don't know what it is. Send me a PM with your address and I'll mail it to you gratis. I don't need it ...

I started reloading with the Lyman Tru-Line Jr. I initially loaded .38 Special and the .218 Bee rifle cartridge and later the Remington .222. It was a good little press and I sold it later on. I can't say that I miss it as I now reload on the Redding T-7. The only thing that I miss from those early days are the Winchester .218 Bee rifle and the Remington 722 .222 with a heavy barrel.

The restoration is coming along nicely! Also, a 7/8"-14 TPI turret showed up on ebay, so I bought it.

I was able to repair my original "Y" brackets.

There will be a write up soon!

I just finished up the press. It turned out pretty good. Its a smooth little press that I plan on loading .44mag and .357 with.

I was able to fix the side "Y" brackets but punching the worn out pins from the brackets and reaming the hole out to 3/8". I found a shouldered 3/8" bolt at the hardware, slide the bolt into the hole, leaving enough room for the vertical lever, and welding the bolts from the back side, then grinding it all smooth.

I was able to source and purchase a new turret to fit modern 7/8"-14 TPI dies. I also found a universal shell holder adapter (niether are pictured)

So here it is!

I made ammo with it last night! I used the .38spcl 5/8"-30 "310" dies.

First off, this press can make some nice ammo, second, use lube! I almost stuck one. I forgot these old dies are not carbide.

Where did you get the Lyman orange paint? Or is that just orange paint you had around the house? Looks great by the way.

It's a off the shelf Rust-Oleum. It's the Rust-Oleum equivalent to krylon fusion. Can't remember what they call it. The color is almost perfect!
