Guys, gimme a hand. My last post inquired about the tru line jr. So, how about the "all american" with respect to accepting current dies, also would like photo or info on the other turret presses by lyman like the Tmag, and spar T. Thanks a million, Dave.:)

Lyman All-American

Dave, The All-American is a wonderful press. I have used one along with about 2 dozen standard (7/8 X 14) dies from Lyman and RCBS for 30 years and am very pleased with it. I no longer use the push button, semiautomatic primer feed but prime by hand in another operation. I would recommend it highly.

Dave,
I am sure the All American turret press is no longer made. I have had mine for almost 40 years and it has served me well. It continues to do so. I have aquired a few other presses during that time and so the AA no longer is used as much as it originally was. It is pretty much used for smaller numbers of reloads that it is not worth setting up one of the others. It DOES use the standard dies and I use all the different makes in it. Quantrill

Sox - I have one of the Spar-T presses. It was a graduation gift back, well, sometime ago.
I use it today, mostly for 38/357. I have a Dillon 550 for the .45 stuff.
I have replaced the original RCBS die set with a tungsten die set. Piece of cake. No change from the original from 2o years ago.
I put a Lyman Powder Drop on it, too.
This press isn't going anywhere. My Dad made a half-hearted attempt to get it from me but I stopped him cold!
I have not loaded all that many rounds with it because I was not in the reloading thing for a number of years. It is practically a new machine.

Is there anything in particular that I could answer for you?

Regards

Thanks for the help guys, I just bought one off ebay- a lyman orig tmag turret orange, pretty cool. I am new to reloading and from reading input here and there decided to go with a turret. The all american looks nice and pretty compact.

The T-Mag is a terrific press. You can get a rhythm for it and get an easy 125 rounds per hour. I like this because I check every powder charge. What I do is to size and prime 200-300 rounds at a time. I prime with the Lee primer. Then when I want to load I have a box ready. I use an old Lyman accumeasure that I have several great loads from. Seating and taper crimp is easy.
