I am looking for a good M-4A3/AR-15A3 rifle. Please list the brands and models that fit the following requirements: telescopic stock, flat top receiver or (preferably) removable carry handle, 16-inch barrel. By the way, I am particularly interested in the Colt models. I have been looking on Colt's website, but it sucks. I know they make rifles that fit my requirements for civilian use, but the site only shows one model. So, please list the MC6..... model number. Thanks.

The basic description of an M4A3 is a standard M16, but with a telescopic stock, flat top receiver and removable carry handle, and a 14.5" barrel.

So truthfully, just about every company out there makes one. Not selective-fire or with anything shorter than a 16" bbl, of course (unless you like giving away money and doing paperwork), but everyone makes one. Olympic Arms, DPMS, Bushmaster, Armalite (sorta), Rock River, and any po-dunk manufacturer with a CNC machine.

Kennyboy, the Colt LE6920 is what you want

The bushmaster "M4 Type carbine" (with the A3 upper) would be a good choice too:

True, except that most use a non-chrome lined, heavy as a boat anchor, HBAR. The real M4 has a lightened barrel (and of course it's an NFA unfriendly 14.5")

This is an M4 barrel.

This is what most AR manufacturers use on their carbines.

I'm looking at the Colt Carbine A3 16 M-4 MT6400C with the nonadjustable stock. This model is about $500 less that the models with the adjustable stocks. Everything else seems to be the same as the 6721 and 6920 models except that those two models have the telescopic stocks. So, my question is what is the difference between the 3 models. Also, can the stock on the MT6400C be removed and replaced with a telescopic stock?

I have an Armalite M15A4(C), and like it a lot. Its accurate and been 100% reliable. It came with a collapsible stock, but I replaced it with a M16A1 stock, as I dislike the sliders. Both the carry handle and the front sights are removable. I have GG&G BUIS's on mine and an Aimpoint with GG&G cantilever mount. The Armalite has "carbine" length handguards which are more proportionate and dont leave the barrel hanging out there.

The MT6400C will have a pinned telestock and a permanently attached muzzle brake. Other than that, it should be similar to the LE6920 and will have the side sling swivel, M4 handguards, M4 barrel profile, and flattop with detachable carry handle.

The LE6721 has a 1/9 16" HBAR barrel, normal sling swivel, a collapsible stock, a flash hider, standard carbine handguards and a detachable carry handle. It would be very similar to the flattop Bushmaster carbine.
