I understand the concern, and it always baffled me why people would load differing loads that would look similar, or load the magazine full up with small game loads when hunting big game. I use drastically different bullets. The round ball loads obviously look extremely different, the 115 gr flat point lead bullets are also very different than any full power loads I use for 30-30, being very short and a very different bullet profile overall.
When I've loaded lighter loads in 338 I used the 200 gr flat point 33 Win bullets, they are easy to instantly well the difference from regular full power stuff. In '06, I use short bullets, like the 110 gr'ers or cast bullets. I want to do a round ball load for '06 also. They are like shooting 22's in noise and power.
In 348, I load 200 gr Hornadys for general use, and some 250 gr Barnes in my belt when up on the mountain. They are the only real differing loads that look similar I use in anything. I mark an X across the base with a sharpie so I can instantly tell which load I'm looking at. The round ball loads for 348 of course arent hard to tell from regular ones. I generally leave the magazine loaded with full power loads and single load small game loads as needed for grouse etc, and always have the gun ready for whatever other surprises may present themselves. The Winchesters actions make doing that very easy.
One aspect of the Winchester actions that made dealing with the chamber inserts easier, was ejecting the insert, it would cartwheel out of the action into the air, spinning the empty 32 auto shell out, and I'd catch it in my right hand, ready to load it again with a 32 round, or put it in my cartridge belt or pocket. It would be a bit awkward to have to poke the empty out with a stick or whatever.
See how the chamber inserts work for you, you may come to different conclusions than I did after using them. We all have our own take on things of course.
