I'm looking to dive into a .45 2.0 M&P. Local fella is asking $425 for complete kit with less than 500 rounds through it.

Wondering what folks here think of 'em.

I've got a 2.0 Shield and 2.0 full-size 9mm and like them A LOT. Figured I'd round out the family with the one shooting big bullets. (It will be one of only 2 .45s I'll own...a Sig 220 and this striker-fired one.)

Would love to hear what folks think of them, their experience with them....and how they might compare them to other similar-sized, non-1911 .45s.

Disclaimer: I've substantial experience with the first generation M&P-45s, but zero with the 2.0 in .45 ACP. However: As a long-time (used it for work since 2008) user of the M&P in 9mm, .40 S&W and .45 ACP, it's become the only striker-fired plastic pistol I actually like. Now that the 2.0 has addressed the well-known issue of the mediocre trigger from the Gen 1 models (and tweaked the barrels some), I'm actually a fan, to the point where I bought my own 2.0 full-size and compact after buying one of the first 2.0 Shields (all in 9mm). The new grip texture, the new cosmetic styling of the slides have improved what were already exceptional ergonomics, and most reports indicate that accuracy across the line seems improved as well. Certainly the trigger is much improved.

I found that I could shoot the M&P-45 a bit better than my SIG P-227 (which cost twice as much) although the accuracy of the P-220 and P-227 was markedly better. Definitely an easier shooter than my FNX-45. And as a former owner of a Glock 21, I state for the record that the M&P platform's ergos work way, way better for me the brick that is the G-21.

I don't see any down-side to picking up the M&P-45 2.0 -- it offers a lot for a lot less than way more costly (non-1911) .45s.

Price seems good for a lightly-used model -- and I'd go for it if the seller paid the transfer fee --, but since you seem to be in my region, brand-new, you can sometimes find this pistol for under $500 around the Sound.
