M&p 340

For those of you that own the M&P 340 and have the CT grips, do you find that they are comfortable?
When I tried them at the store it felt a little short in length.

I am getting ready to buy the M&P 340 and now am just deciding on the laser grips.

I have the MP340 with laser grips and like them just fine. I do not have large hands but try different ways to grip the ct's to find what is best for you. The
405's I have do help in recoil with +p and .357s but are still stout. I have had trouble with the 340 and had sent it back to SW. The firing pin was changed because it was not long enough and did not hit the primer. Got it back and so
far so good. Enjoy your MP340, I think you will like it a lot.

My experience mirrors kkebs. My M&P 340 is (one of) my daily carry guns, and I have the CT LG 405s on it.

These are a definite help in recoil--the pockets are worth it, IMO.

OTOH, the 305--longer grip--is excellent to shoot with (I have that on a 3" M60), too--but they are not for pocket carry.

I also bought a set of 105s--e.g., the cheap one in hard polymer. These were unusable by me really--the grip was just too small for me to reliably turn on the laser.

For pocket carry, then, I really think the 405s are the ones to install.

Generally, my grip rides high, and that makes a difference, I think.

Andy, make sure you give the gun a good handling. I was attracted to the CT grips, but found that if I gripped the gun in a firing position with the finger of my firing hand indexed on the frame, I blocked the light of the laser.

I have a set of LG-105's on my J-frame and I like them alot, a good fit for my hand and the gun points well with them.

I have a 340 with the 405 lazer grip. The only problem I had was my little finger would hit the on/off switch during recoil and turn the lazer off. I took a drimmel tool and ground the switch down a little and the problem has been solved. I did have a problem with the grip starting to serperate at a seam. I sent it to CT and they replaced it.

Get one and you'll love it.

about covers it. I have CT 405s and for pocket carry they are the creme de la creme as far as laser grips go.

A bit off topic on grips and that is pick up a set of inexpensive (under 20) Hogue Mongrips and give them a try some day.

If you IWB or OWB and don't want to use a laser grip you may find these to your liking.

I think you will like your 340. I know I do.

Why does it cost so much? Because it's worth it.

Applies with divorces and handguns.

You might say the same thing about a 442 vs a 340 too.

Look at it this way. You are getting CTs with S&W logos!!factor.

Aftermarket CT 405s are going to run $230 in any event.

Yes, they are definitely worth every penny. Comfort and quick target acquisition are the key points.

You will kick yourself if you don't get them at some point, hence you may as well get the S&W because if you go back to S&W in the aftermarket they are going to hose you compared to internet prices and no logo.
