I've always pretty much been a "Glock Guy" some of you might have read posts where I praise my XD, or Px4, but I go back to my Glock every time. This time... I'm not so sure.

I like this gun, and I will post a full review after my next range session.

I will say this: If you're a a Glock, or XD guy (or gal) give the M&P a try. You might never look back.

I just made a long post about this last week. One of the best hand guns i have shot. If you have not tried get the Apex hard sear and radiused plunger from them and will make your trigger feel like a custom $200 trigger for $70.

The M&P seems to be a fine handgun, but overall I prefer Glocks.

I especially don't like the way the trigger feels on the M&P.

I've owned and shot M&Ps, and have called them a "better feeling Glock." :D My only criticism is the width of the slide on the compact model; it is less comfortable to carry concealed IWB than a slimmer gun and makes it a little top heavy. IMO if it were a dedicated 9mm (instead of also accommodating the higher recoil .40 and even .357 SIG) it could be slimmed down a little. I can forgive a lot when it has 100% perfect functioning out of the box, as mine did. I would also like to see a size in between the compact and full size ... about the same as a Glock 19. :) Still, for those who dislike the Glock's grip size, shape or angle and the rather spongy trigger, I steer them toward the M&P.

Another 500 - 1000 rounds and I'll post a full report. Can't wait to hit the range this weekend and get back to you guys. Only 300 rounds so far. Not enough to know if it will replace my beloved Glock, but enough to know I like it. I'll buy about 300 rnds, and I'll get about that many reloads for Dad. I'll have a full report soon.

I tried them all, and ended up choosing the M&P for its ergonomics (not that they're mutually exclusive, but I have other very different guns on my shopping list). I like how it looks, too--understated without being too blocky.

+1
I bought a 9c after a year with a full size 9 & 40 thinking it would be just as good.......I sold it a week later. I can carry a FS M&P almost as easy and the FS also feels better in my hand.
Not a big enough difference between the FS and compact IMHO. But I do love the full size M&P9.

They are great guns. My M&P9pro is my favorite pistol. I'm a junkie, though, so I still have my glocks and XDs and even three 1911s, but the M&P is the first one I grab.
