All I have on hand is small pistol mag primers... I see everything to lighting the trigger pull but nothing about putting a heavier striker spring... I’m thinking a heavier striker spring would make this pistol fire these mag primers more reliable...

is it possible to put a heavier striker assembly or to replace striker spring with heavier spring???

It's not just an M&P problem. I have found the Ruger LCP9s will reliably fire ammunition loaded with small pistol standard primers, but only dimple ammunition loaded with small pistol magnum primers or small rifle standard primers (non-magnum small rifle primers). Most times a second strike will fire.

If it were me, I would see if there are people holding small pistol standard primers who need some small pistol magnum primers and eager to trade as a quick solution.

Someone with experience with beefing up the M&P firing mechanism to fire magnum primers should chime in with advice soon. It might affect trigger pull, but since I have encountered foreign .380 pistol factory ammo loaded with the equivalent of small rifle/small pistol magnum primers, I feel being able to reliably fire pistol magnum primers is a huge plus in any size pistol.
