I bought a M&P 9 2.0 several months back for a really good deal. Sadly I've only been able to shoot a mag out of it because I also had others that needed to be tested too. I've never shot an M&P before so I wanted to try it. Overall I like it, too bad I would've bought the compact too if I knew.

Not really looking but have always been open to the M&P line and the 1.0 full size was one that I had originally wanted. I can't seem to find them anywhere, couldn't find that they are discontinued either except for the shield.

I saw PSA had some police trade ins for $300. I was so close to buying one except it was just basically the gun and a mag. After buying two mags it would be as much as what I paid for my new 2.0 so it didn't make sense. Most reviews says the condition are fairly good but with my luck I'd prefer to actually see it before I buy.

Another gun I'm looking for is the XDM 9 full size. I have the XD9 and XDM 9 Elite on the way so this model is missing in my collection. Hopefully it's not discontinued too.

To the best of my knowledge when S&W put the M&P2 on the market the !.0 was discontinued. If you really want one I'd either get a police trade in or find someone that wants to sell theirs. Mags for the !.0s and 2.0s are interchangeable.

If you really want a full-size M&P 1.0 in 9 mm, I have one I'd be willing to sell you for $300 plus shipping. Three mags and a blade-tech holster included.

Just curious to why you would prefer the 1.0 over the improvements of the 2.0?

I LOVe the M&P guns.

I've put a zillion rounds thruogh my old 1.0

Mrs. Santa got me a new 2.0 for Christmas last year.

Both are 100% reliable and excellent shooters.

I like the grip texture on the 2.0 better.

Not that I prefer the 1.0, but it would've been the gun I was issued should I have not chose to carry my own gen 3 Glock 22. A lot of departments were going to the M&P line and raving about it but I have never shot one before at the time.

Thanks for the offer but I think I'll pass for now. I prefer to see it before I buy and also it's not on the top of my list right now.

I haven't been keeping up on things as much, and stopped updating my M&P pistol armorer classes after the 5th one. However, last I heard, the original series (1.0, if you prefer) was shifted to LE-Only orders and remained available for agency orders. Obviously, the 2.0 models are promoted, and they do incorporate some refinements.

When the CHP decided to adopt the M&P 40 (having already adopted the M&P 40C to replace their 4013TSW's, for plainclothes officers), they specifically chose the original model over the 2.0 (which was offered to them, even though it was just becoming available). From what I was told, the agency decided that since the original model had been in production for 10 years at that point (in '16), it had established itself as proven and reliable.

I was issued a 2016 vintage M&P 40 for a while, myself, toward the end of the time I remained serving as a reserve (for several years post-retirement). It was a pretty decent pistol. After inspecting it, I ran it just as it came out-of-the-box, which was bone-dry. Nary a bobble with the 180gr HST we were using at that time. The felt recoil was mild, for a .40 (I own a 2010 production 40C, BTW.) The accuracy was fine, too. For those who like to take the time to study trigger pulls during slow-fire, it didn't have quite the crisp trigger as the 9mm 2.0's I'd tried, but it was a fine, serviceable trigger, nonetheless.

I got a M&P 40 2.0 last week and I think it's quite an improvement over the 1.0.It's a Performance Center pistol and it may be one of the best striker triggers I've shot.
